What’s New In Diablo 3’s New Season 4?

Diablo 3 is the best-selling PC game of all-time when it comes to numbers of sales. That surely makes it a game that will go down in history as a great? The game is already becoming an Adjective in itself, you hear games referred to as “Diablo-style” gameplay and such. Blizzard have recently opted for the choice to simply patch Diablo 3 with new Season updates which bring new gear and achievements and some new minor gameplay mechanic additions. Seasons are an optional, recurring game mode that offers PC players the opportunity to periodically start fresh, leveling new Normal or Hardcore heroes from level 1 without any currency, resources, items, or previously earned Paragon experience. Similar to the separation between Normal and Hardcore game modes, Seasonal heroes will also have their own shared stash and Artisan progression. Any currency, materials, recipes, items, Paragon experience, and Artisan progression earned during a Season will be rolled over to a player’s non-Seasonal profile once the Season concludes.

Season 4 looks to bring a few new interesting pieces of content to the board to support the 2.3 Patch. Let’s have a look at some of the new gear, content and features that you’ll be able to play around with in Season 4 of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls.

Season Journey Interface

The first thing you’ll likely notice when you first jump into the new Season in Diablo 3o is that Blizzard have introduced the Season Journey which is a great little addition to the Season progression system of unlocking achievements. The Season Journey is broken down into separate Chapters with their own set of achievements and goals to work towards which really makes it feel like you’re progressing which is nice. There are 5 chapters for you to complete which have achievements that obviously increase in difficulty as you go up the chapters. It’s a really rewarding feeling to work towards singular quests if you will and then come out at the end with a prize for achieving that. Blizzard realised this was one of players’ favourite things about Seasons and so have introduced the Season Journey section to better allow players to track their progress.

The prizes in Season 4 are similar to previous prizes with the ability to unlock new Transmogs, a new Pet and a new Character border which are all cosmetic additions that will give plenty of players a good reason to pursue those achievements and work their way through them.

New Legendary Items

As with every Season, Season 4 brings with it some new Legendary items that will give veteran players something new and powerful to work towards. These Legendaries are always Season-exclusive meaning that if you don’t create a Season character you won’t be able to obtain these Legendaries until the next Season rolls around. It’s a good system that gives players even more reason to participate in Seasoned gameplay.

Some of the new Legendaries that you can expect to find within Season 4 are the Legendary Gem, Bane of the Stricken, along with class-specific items like Dishonored Legacy and Sacred Harness. and the Witch Doctor mojo—Henri’s Perquisition. As always these Legendaries are likely to be better than the highest legendary you already own otherwise there’d be no reason for Blizzard to add them in. So keep hunting for them!

New Cosmetic Rewards

One of the best bits about Diablo is being able to make your character look as cool as possible with incredibly powerful armour and dyes. With Reaper of Souls, Blizzard introduced Transmogs which allowed you to customise the look of your weapons and gear whilst still keeping all the cool perks and passive abilities of certain other Legendaries. This obviously opens up the door for some great looking sets of armour which has spanned a whole separate section of Diablo fans who enjoy making their characters look as cool as possible.

It’s no surprise then that Blizzard have introduced the ability to get some new cosmetic looks when you get a character to Level 70 in Seasons. Season 4 allows you to get the Conqueror’s transmogrification set from past Seasons if you unfortunately missed it. Blizzard have said they’re working hard on making new looking armour sets for cosmetic purposes too, however they prefer to make armour sets that have purposes rather than just cosmetic use. However, both are great and all Diablo fans love to use both.
