The launch of the newest iPhone model is already being anticipated, with many people dying to know what new features it will bring. Similarly, a new business version of the iPad is rumoured to be in development and it has the whole world speculating about its features. We take a look at current rumours surrounding both releases.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Rumours
The new version of the iPhone is rumoured to be called iPhone 6s, while the iPhone 7 is expected to be released next year. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will almost definitely be released this September and will run iOS 9. It is thought there may be a third model, the iPhone 6c, released this year but there is little information to support this theory.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are rumoured to be gaining the Taptic Engine and Force Touch from the Macbook and Apple watch, which will allow users to interact with their phone in a new way. Force Touch is a technology which detects how hard or softly a user is pressing and functions of the phone can react accordingly. For instance using a soft touch to scroll slowly or a hard touch to scroll quickly.

A big jump from the current iPhone 6 camera is expected for the 6s, which sees a two-lens system being used to create quality that can rival a DSLR and produce super sharp images. The current iPhone version uses an 8mp camera whereas a jump to 12mp is expected for the 6s.

Apple holds a patent on the idea of using a vibrating motor or ejecting batteries to create a spinning motion when the phone is dropped which will ensure it always lands face up and will reduce the chance of a cracked screen. This new technology may be making an appearance on the new iPhone.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are also rumoured to be getting wireless inductive charging, as seen in the Apple Watch, and possibly a new Samsung A9 processor too- an improvement on the current A8.

The appearance of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are thought to be very similar to the current iPhone 6 models with 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch screens. It’s rumoured that there may be a rose gold version being added to the colour options as this is a particularly trendy colour at the moment. Slovakian website svetapple.sk has mocked up a rose gold version as seen in the photo above. It’s likely that Apple will be keeping new designs under their hat to use for the iPhone 7 rather than the interim iPhone 6s and 6s Plus smartphone models.

Apple iPad AiriPad Pro Rumours
Apple is believed to be in development of an iPad Pro, a business-focused tablet which will have a screen size of between 12 and 13 inches. The iPad Air 2 which was released last year has a screen size of 9.7 inches and the newly announced 12 inch MacBook would also be smaller than the iPad Pro, making it perfect for business use rather than browsing the internet or spending time on Facebook.

The iPad Pro is likely to run iOS 9 and it’s thought that the updated mobile operating system may bring with it a new multi-taking feature, allowing users to run two apps on the screen at the same time. This would also make the tablet perfect for work and professional use.

Apple has filed a number of patents relating to styli for use with an iPad and it is though that the company may produce a specific stylus for the iPad Pro. This will enable users to write in their own handwriting and sketch with precision. This would be a surprise as Apple has until now been against the use of a stylus with its products, but the Touch Force technology which is expected to be used in the new iPad will offer new functionality for both finger and stylus tools.

There are few rumours based on the physical design of the iPad Pro other than speculation that it will be a bigger version of the current iPad designs. The new iPad version will use Touch ID and possibly newer technology such as facial recognition to make it more secure than the current iPad versions used in business and healthcare settings. An NFC radio may be included on the new device and there have been ideas that the tablet will support Apple Pay for sending payments but will also be able to receive payments too, creating a terminal for customers or clients with compatible devices to pay for good and services.

Production of the new iPad is reported to have been delayed until September due to display panel issues and so an approximate release date isn’t yet known, but it’s thought that the iPad Pro will be officially announced towards the end of the year.
